Material testing

An adequate EN13555-dataset per gasket type has to be made available. In every case repeated test results are mandatory as this is a minimum requirement in EN 13555. Tests on one gasket type can be completed by multiple test centres and combined together for submission if required.

Prepare data

The determined values have to be processed to achieve a representation which enables the visitors of gasketdata.org understanding how the gasket product performs. Therefore a very advanced web-form is avaiable where you can copy & paste the test results. The datasheet will be automatically generated using the values of the double-tests.

Verification

Test results (according to 1.) from well known test houses, e.g. Amtec, GAIST, Cetim or FH Münster, will be accepted for the the database without the need of an additional cross-check. If all the data or parts of the data is determined by the manufacturer's laboratory, a randomly chosen cross-check is mandatory and will be performed of one of the laboratorys mentioned earlier in this paragraph. FH Münster reserves the right to choose the type of test to be carried out. If the random test result is within an accepted range of tolerance, the whole data set will be accepted.1 Five test samples have to be provided for the cross-check.

Publish

The process of the publication is administratively done by GAIST GmbH (comissioned by FH Münster). Beginning with 2021 the publication process is shifted from ordering by email to the platform gasketcloud.com. The confirmation for publication is given by the manufacturer earlier in this process by ordering the publication of the product to gasketdata.org. In this last step, after the FH Münster successfully checked the data, which may have been validated by a cross-check, the data will be published to gasketdata.org.

Add approvals

Easily add additional files like certifications, admissions or other supporting documents to your gasket product after you have published it on gasketdata.org. The additional documents are then also published to gasketdata.org and help designers and decision-makers choosing the right product for the desired application. The amount of certificates and admissions is not limited by the way so you can add as many as you wish!

1 In case the result of the chosen cross-check differs significantly from the average test value provided by the publicating party, the following procedure will be adopted:
  1. For PQR-values the customer value has to be into a scatter band of +-0.5 of the cross-check value. For Qmin/Qsmin the scatter band is defined as +-a half decade of the cross-check result. For all other values, where no comprehensive data is available - which allows the definition of exact scatter for each gasket factor -, FH Muenster will decide what 'significant' means.
  2. In case there are divergent test results, the manufacturer and GAIST GmbH will try to find the reason for the divergence together.
  3. If a reason can not be found, a second neutral test institute (e.g. Amtec, TÜV, Cetim) will be included and a further test will be accomplished. If that test is close to one of the previous test results that one will be accepted.
  4. If there is again no similarity to be seen, FH Münster will decide whether the data will be published or not.

The publication of gasket datasheets and additional documents at gasketdata.org is done using the interface which is available through gasketcloud.com. All required functions are combined there and also the complete workflow for publication is implemendet at gasketcloud.com. The gasketdata.org platform is operated by GAIST GmbH on the basis of a licence granted by Münster University of Applied Sciences. GAIST operates the platform gasketcloud.com and by order of FH Münster the service gasketdata.org. For the publication at gasketdata.org the use of gasketcloud.com is free of charge!
